April 19, 2020, Modiin, Israel. Silenseed announced today the filing of a new patent application named INTRANASAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM (DDS) AND POSITIONING DEVICE. The described DDS enables local, continuous and sustained delivery of drug to the lungs, while circumventing systemic administration methods which require higher doses and often result in systemic side effects. The invention supports the use of DDS for example a LOcal Drug EluteR (LODER) for applications including lung cancer and as is described in US patent application number 63/010,734 “DEVICES, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS FOR INHIBITING CORONAVIRUS INFECTION AND METHODS OF TREATMENT THEREOF”.
